About Deb.

Deborah Nicosia, BA, LMT

With more than 20 years of experience in bodywork, I custom-tailor each session to meet your specific needs.

Throughout my career, I’ve studied many different modalities, including deep massage, pregnancy massage, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, orthobionomy, clinical massage, craniosacral therapy, and shiatsu.

When I began training through the Upledger Institute, I knew craniosacral therapy was what I wanted to focus on. The work speaks to me for many reasons, but mostly I love the balance of structure and energy. In my experience, craniosacral therapy fills in the places where traditional massage falls short. I am excited to share the profound benefits with you.

When I am not helping people feel better, I can be found spending time with my son, working on a home project, reading, hiking, or losing debates with my basset hound about the appropriate amount of daily treats.

Every BODY has a story.

Thank you for trusting me with yours.

FAQs

Is it like massage therapy?

Yes and No. It is similar to massage therapy since you will be on a massage table with soft music playing, and the session is about an hour. It is not like a massage because the work is performed over clothing and a series of sustained holds instead of strokes.

Do you work with children?

I mostly work with adults. However, I will work with older kids on a case-by-case basis. I do not currently work with children younger than 10 years old.

What should I wear?

You will lie on the table with your clothes on to receive CST. Since the work is done over clothes, comfortable workout-type clothing works best.

Will I need more than one session?

If you are working on a particular issue, more than one session is often indicated. My intention is always to help you achieve your goals in as few sessions as possible.

How will I feel after the session?

Most people feel very relaxed. Although the work is subtle, it is deep work. So be gentle with yourself after a craniosacral session. Stay hydrated. Take it easy. In other words, it’s probably better to receive CST after you run a marathon, not before.

Do you take insurance or HSA?

I do not take insurance but do accept most HSA cards.
